Trumpeter S-3B Viking 1:700 (03432)

The Lockheed S-3 Viking is an American twin-engine airborne patrol and ZOP aircraft in the spine-wing configuration, with a three-support all-metal undercarriage. The crew consisted of four people: a pilot, 2 tactical officers, an electronic equipment operator. Intended to replace the Grumman S-2 Tracker, the S-3A made its first flight on January 21, 1972. Successful trials initiated the production of 179 Vikings, the first of which entered service in June 1974. The S-3 Viking is equipped with an excellent array of sensors anti-submarine warfare: AN / ASQ-81 - tail-mounted magnetic anomaly detector, AN / APS-116 sea surface scanning radar and 60 acoustic hydrolocation buoys. The S-3B version could additionally carry two AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missiles. Other weapons and equipment include: Mk.82 bombs, Mk.53 depth bombs, Mk.57 anti-submarine mines, rockets, Mk.46 torpedoes, flare launchers and two additional fuel tanks.
