Designed using a new technique at the time and inspired by Americanmanufacturing processes, the C4 was an exceptionally sturdy vehicle,both in terms of its engine and its bodywork. Citroën also made sureto offer enough different bodyworks so as to satisfy all requirements:2-door and 4-door saloons, limousines, 4 and 6 seaters, hardtops,convertibles, runabouts, business cars, vans, minibuses, taxis...This special version of the C4, known as the ‘Pompier’, was used byFrench fire brigades and was fitted with appropriate bodywork andequipment.
